A few years ago, a small but significant group at Schneider started working on a strategic initiative: making their products smarter, by the use of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. The idea was to impart intelligence in different aspects of the product by the usage of Machine Learning Cores.
Some point, they needed to scale delivery and were evaluating remote teams who would be able to qualify. That was not easy given that off-the-shelf components could not be used and everything needed to be developed ground-up. These were to be futuristic applications that would determine the next level of orbit for the Customer.
The WonderBiz team started making inroads in this area. Even though they had no existing competency in Machine Learning, they started to invest. They got one of their best Engineers on the job, pushing the throttle. Soon, it was time to demonstrate and what this Engineer did was to go beyond what was accomplished so far in about half the time. This was the beginning of a new capability demonstrated by WonderBiz.
Soon, a team of another 2-3 Engineers joined in and more till now the WonderBiz team has 7 Machine Learning Engineers working on complex problems. Starting with Image Analysis in the form of Reverse Engineering to making sense of Time Series data, the team has attempted everything. One of the last problems to solve was classification of discrete data and figuring out a Cause and Effect relationship for Predictive Analytics.
A team of high ability Machine Learning Engineers was set up. Of course, that meant that the Customer side Architects had to do a hand-holding in terms of Machine Learning Algorithm writing and getting Statistics for the Data Science context. But the team has covered that well and are now in a position to scale even further. The Customer agrees that flexibility has been one of the virtues of Team WonderBiz & they have consistently being showing good progress.
With the help of the WonderBiz Team, the Customer has been able to scale their core backend modules and lend the support required for all the futuristic applications on the drawing-board.
