The team has had to be multifarious with knowledge in areas such as Machine Learning, Mathematics, Programming, User Experience, multiple programming languages like Python, C#, JavaScript Frameworks, SQL. Clearly, it was difficult to form a team with such varied expertise in a short time. They were to build technologies and applications from scratch where right business problems had to be identified, solutions found and validations performed with users. The team had to be extremely efficient, agile, with a laser-focus on user needs, User Experience (UX) and one that would bring-in original thought-process to solve problems along the way.
A group of senior Product Managers at Schneider Electric were given the task of building a small team that would create a set of core technologies to be leveraged and extended for building the innovative Futuristic Applications for Schneider. The team needed to have expertise in the area of Machine Learning / AI / Data Analytics, as well as, have solid experience in building technologies that could be used as kernel frameworks for multiple applications. A team that would aggressively build the product out - a team that would be able to match the speed that was envisioned.
Leaders at Schneider Electric also knew how other partners operated - that was a strict no-no. They needed somebody who'd be able to work at the same pace. Also, the team had to be multifarious with knowledge in areas such as Machine Learning, Mathematics, Programming, User Experience, and multiple programming languages like Python, C#, JavaScript Frameworks, SQL. Clearly, it was difficult to form a team with such varied expertise in a short time. They were to build technologies and applications from scratch where the right business problems had to be identified, solutions found and validations performed with users. The team had to be extremely efficient, and agile, with a laser focus on user needs, User Experience (UX) and one that would bring in original thought-process to solve problems along the way.
The WonderBiz Team was involved from Day 1 of a Proof Of Concept for this Product. As the expanse of the Product became apparent, it was clear that a much bigger team would be needed. The initial team that had participated in the POC soon became pillars of the product. More team members were added both on the App side as well as the Core side.
Core needed advanced features to be supported. While the App side had to productize the functionality exposed by the Core. It was a two-fold straddle that the team has continued to do ever since. At its peak, this 15 people team has been working for the last 4 years steadily building functionality and getting ready for the market.
Schneider Electric now has an established and reliable product development team, on average 52% more cost-effective than if they were to build the team onshore.
